Slow and Steady

We have started our project. We are starting it slow since A-Levelers have exams.

Important information!
  • Jun Ian is working on our front cover. He has a month.
  • Jason is collecting reports and other literator/written based stuff.
We are trying to get people who are willing to write/draw. In other words, we are recruiting artists of both visual arts and literature. If you are willing to help, please contact one of our members.

I strongy urge all of you to contribute a little part to the book. It's not about the five of us alone; it's the form 5 of 2007 as a whole.

More updates soon.

And The Theme Is...

Dummies' Guide to WMS 2007

Thank you for voting.
  1. The core members will be informed.
  2. We will be recruiting soon.
  3. We really encourage you to donate Literature/Art work, or anything you want to put inside.
  4. We also might start a side project to get fundings by that will be later.
  5. A futher discussion will be held among the core members regarding the theme. However, some people are having their mocks this week so the meeting will be later on.
  6. I got some photographs but we require more photographs related to the events.
  7. We need reports from individual clubs if you have it. We're also trying to get the compiled version which would be hard.
That is all at the moment, we need as much support. A fire has been lit and it will not go out until its job has been accomplished

We Are Not Dead

This is not dead. I have been multitasking to the fullest, as the same for our members of course.

We are still currently looking for Literature and Art work. This is your last chance to show your schoolmates your potential.

So, you must be wondering, what are the progress?
  1. Rachel has just send a mass e-mail. Hopefully we can get the whole of form 5 2007 involved.
  2. Dummies' and Rebirth are neck to neck. We have one more week for voting and then serious business begins. We will start the designs.
  3. Class photographs from some photographer will be passed to me next Friday, hopefully.
We will take this a step at a time, your contributions and suggestions are much appreciated.

The Contents of The Book

Please look at the previous post about themes which is as important as this one. Every vote counts.

While the theme voting is going on, we are looking for contents. Well, this is your time to shine.

First would be the basic club reports and the formal class photographs. The thing is, the club reports is with some teacher (most probably initials EM) and if one of you can try your luck getting them. The class photographs are obtainable through the photographers from whom I will get it from. However, if any of you have any club reports, please send them to Rachel or I, Eugene.

Second would be Literature work and rants on yearbook. If you have any stories, poems or nice articles you have written yourself and you would like it published, please pass them to Jason. He will be incharged with all the written work. Proofreading and editing will be provided if needed.

Third would be Art work. If you have any Art work you'd like to show off (your own work), please pass them to JunIan. He will be incharged with all the designs and visual work.

Fourth would be Photographs. If you have any photographs you would like to include (we have to decided if we want to put your photographs in though), please pass them to PeakSheng. He will be incharged of photographs. However, due to that he is in Australia, most of the time away from keyboard, you can pass the photographs to Eugene.

Lastly would be suggestions and other resources. You can pass them to anyone, but the head of these will be Rachel and I, Eugene.

PS: I am messing with colours 'cause I think it looks plain.

Meeting One: Theme

The first official meeting was called.

Venue: MSN/Windows Live Messenger
Date: 21st April 2008
Time: 9.00p.m to 11.00p.m (11.00p.m to 1a.m in Melbourne)
Agenda: Themes
Members Present: Eugene, Jason, JunIan, PeakSheng and Rachel

We discussed about the theme and narrowed it down to three themes for you to vote on. And here are the themes. I will describe the layout.
Note: Core Team Members are not allowed to vote at this moment.

I know that poll is not the most effective way since outsiders can vote on it as well but it is the simplest. I would prefer if you cast your vote along with your name in the comments, as well.

1. Dear Diary

Dear Diary is a very ambiguous theme. It can be either formal and organized or informal with some graffiti. But basically, it is going to be in the way of the recordings of our lives. You get the general idea of it.

2. Dummies' Guide To...

Dummies' Guide To WMS or Dummies' Guide To Making A Yearbook.
Dummies' Guide is an informal theme, with a lot of diagram explaining which sections will go where. You get the general idea of it as well. And no, it does not have to be yellow.

3. Rebirth

Rebirth is slightly deeper. Rebirth represents the life of a new yearbook after the old one has been metaphorically (and possibly literally) burnt down. Like a phoenix, it rises from the flames. And graphically, for the cover, JunIan brought up a brilliant idea. He said, "We put a bit of the old design in the corner, like sort of burning away to reveal the new one."

Jun Ian: All three ideas have a lot of potential as far as design is concerned. In fact, the theme Rebirth is relatively limited in this respect. Both the Diary and the Guide would actually make for a more interesting format and writing style.

We open the votes for two weeks for you to decide. In the meanwhile, we accept more ideas for themes. Themes are not really that fixed. If it is still early, we might change, add or remove a few.

A few more things:
  1. We need you to spread the word.
  2. Cost of book may not be as high as we thought, but figures are only rough estimations.
  3. We would like more suggestions and ideas.
  4. We would like any resources you have such as reports or photographs. (Send them to Eugene or Rachel)
  5. We would like any literature or artwork you would like to submit and show off. (Literature goes to Jason and Artwork goes to JunIan)
That is all. The project is moving along well. Remember, it is from Form 5 Wesleyans of 2007 to Form 5 Wesleyans of 2007.

Thank you for your support.
